A Neurowave marcou presença no 35º Congresso da Sociedade Portuguesa de Ortopedia e Traumatologia nos passados dias 29, 30, e 31 de Outubro, no Centro de Congressos da Alfândega do Porto.
Para além da presença na área de expositores, a Neurowave organizou um simpósio dedicado a três sistemas inovadores dedicados a afeções da coluna vertebral: Apifix, Jazz Band, e iFuse. Neste simpósio, contámos com a presença de quatro ortopedistas internacionais, que vieram relatar a sua experiência com os sistemas destacados.

Session Summary: The ApiFix® system is a novel unilateral concave short segment pedicle screw based spinal instrumentation.
The system has a ratchet mechanism that enables gradual postoperative curve correction by unidirectional device elongation driven by corrective spinal exercises that the patient performs. Only two pedicle screws are utilized. Apifix provides a valuable alternative to the standard long instrumentation and fusion in the management of moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
